SMCC Women's Basketball Falls to Williston State College

The SMCC women's basketball team lost 84-37 to Williston State College in a non-conference contest at the SMCC Gym on Dec. 15. Sophomore Jolie King came off the bench to lead the Cougars with a career-high 18 points and three 3-pointers.

The Tetons led 33-18 at halftime and won the second half 41-19. SMCC made five 3-pointers in the game and posted 44 rebounds, five assists, four steals and a block in the loss.

King finished 6 of 18 from the field and made 3 of 10 from beyond the arc. She added three rebounds and an assist in 29 minutes.

Sophomore Hailey Connor was second on the team with eight points. She made a pair of 3-pointers and added two rebounds in 27 minutes.

Sophomore Miriam Traore led SMCC with 10 rebounds and added two points and an assist. Sophomore Daziane Stevenson had four points, five rebounds and two steals in 30 minutes.

Freshman Mimi Miller had eight rebounds and three points, and sophomore Janae Byrd posted five rebounds, two points, and a steal.
