
SMCC Beach Volleyball Splits with Ottawa University (AZ)

The South Mountain Community College beach volleyball team split a pair of dual matches with Ottawa University (AZ) on Mar. 31 at Scottsdale Ranch Park. After falling 5-0 to the "A" Team, the Cougars rallied for a 4-1 victory over Ottawa University's "B" Team.
Sophomore Emily Wilson and freshman Daisy Motes won as the No. 2 pairs in straight sets (21-14, 21-19) to post their sixth dual win. Freshman Nichole Gary and Rylee Pitts won on the third court to improve to 13-8. The tandem has won seven of their past eight duals.
Freshmen Hannah Van Winkle and Alexa Wasil posted their fifth win as a duo by winning in three sets as the No. 4 pairs, while freshmen Shandi Allison and Emee Fellens improved to 7-2 with a three-set win on the No. 5 pairs.
