The South Mountain Community College women's basketball team (3-6, 0-2 ACCAC) lost 86-32 to Phoenix College in an ACCAC road contest on Nov. 23 at the SMCC Gym. Sophomore Leslie Aguirre had eight points, four rebounds, and four assists and freshman Destiny Dixon had eight points and three rebounds for the Cougars.
SMCC trailed 48-17 at halftime and fell 38-15 in the second half. The Cougars shot 12 of 57 (21.1 percent) from the field and added 32 rebounds, seven assists, seven steals, and a block in defeat.
Sophomore Rahimeh Salaam posted seven points, eight rebounds, one steal, and one block, and freshman DeeDee Medlock added six points, three rebounds, two assists, and a steal.
