
SMCC Men's Basketball Falls at Pima CC

The South Mountain Community College men's basketball team (10-17, 5-10 ACCAC) lost 111-54 to Pima CC in an ACCAC road contest in Tucson on Feb. 15. Sophomore Jacob Taylor led the Cougars with 16 points, and sophomore Cash Callaway added 11 in defeat.
SMCC trailed 48-16 at halftime and lost the second half 63-38. The Cougars shot 31.3 percent (21 of 67) from the field and added 25 rebounds, nine assists, six steals, and two blocks in the loss.
Taylor was 6 of 12 from the floor in 25 minutes and connected on two 3-pointers. He added our rebounds, one assist, and one steal.
Callaway was 5 of 16 from the field in 25 minutes and added two rebounds, two steals, and two assists.
Sophomore Julius Williams and freshman McKay Anderson each scored seven points. Williams recorded five rebounds, one assist, and one steal, while Anderson had two rebounds, two assists, and one steal.
Freshman Drew Hoxie had six points, three rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block. Sophomore Jayven Driscoll had two points and five rebounds.
