Freshman Alyssa Jemio had an outstanding week both at the plate and in the circle for the SMCC Softball team, helping the Cougars sweep ACCAC doubleheaders at Glendale CC and Scottsdale CC. She finished the week 9 for 16 (.562) with 11 RBIs, two doubles, a home run, and one run scored. Jemio finished 4 for 5 with a double, a home run, and a career-high seven RBIs in a 13-5 victory at GCC on Mar. 18. In the circle, Jemio finished 2-0 with a 1.75 ERA and seven strikeouts in 12 innings of work, recording victories over both GCC and SCC.
