Freshman catcher Tazia Blake hit the first two home runs of her intercollegiate career to help lift the SMCC softball team to a doubleheader sweep at Paradise Valley CC on Mar. 25. She hit solo home runs in the second inning of game one and the fifth inning of game two. She followed that up with a 3 for 3 performance in game two of a Cougar doubleheader sweep of nationally ranked Pima CC on Mar. 27. Blake is hitting .490 in 25 games with 21 runs, six doubles, two home runs, 10 RBIs, nine walks, and three stolen bases.
