Freshman shortstop Bobby Pierce Jr. went 9 for 19 (.474) in five games over spring break for the SMCC baseball team, totaling four runs, a triple, three RBIs, and a stolen base. He went 2 for 5 with two runs and a triple in a 7-1 victory over Madison College on Mar. 16, and added three hits and a run against Madison on Mar. 14. Pierce Jr. is batting .395 with 36 runs, 49 hits, eight doubles, two triples, a home run, 13 RBIs, 14 walks, and eight stolen bases in 32 games this season.
