Freshman pitcher Alyssa Jemio was outstanding in the circle, throwing every pitch in the Region I Division II Tournament for the Cougars while also producing at the plate as the team's cleanup hitter. Jemio tossed 26.2 innings during the four games and posted a 2.89 ERA as SMCC overcame an opening-round loss to reach the Championship Game. At the plate, Jemio had four hits, six RBIs, and a double over the four contests, including three RBIs in elimination-game victories over Phoenix College and Scottsdale CC on May 9.
